Aims

The aim of this module is to provide you with knowledge of current industry practice and expectations, as well as a pragmatic understanding of the necessary self-management skills and approaches to gain an advanced education in specialist musical theatre training or creative and cultural sectors.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
In this module you will undertake an industry research project that focuses on a current company or practitioner. You will create a response piece, using and interpreting your practitioner research to discover the interactions between theory, practice and your own personal development. Additionally, the module provides you with the skills and knowledge to complete personal statements and programme applications for advanced actor training in specialist training institutions, as well as the research skills to identify the most appropriate next stage in your creative development.
Module Overview:
This module provides you with the knowledge, communication and presentation skills to articulate your own ideas, opinions and feelings about current performance and industry practice in a staged performance project. These are crucial interpersonal and interview skills. It is carefully scheduled to accompany and complement an audition process, helping you to strategize your preparation and development for the next stage in your actor training. It provides you with the vital skills to fulfil personal statements and programme applications for advanced actor training in specialist institutions.
