Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
This module provides an intensive project-based approach to hone and enhance your interdisciplinary approach to acting and musicianship in musical theatre works. The project requires an independent and creative approach to the generation of character physicality and vocal expression, demonstrating your originality and ability to formulate brave and connected work. You will test your psychological, physical and vocal techniques, as well as essential components of posture, line and extension, strength, flexibility and spatial awareness in dance and legit vocal qualities, including onsets and stylistic singing qualities. Your musicianship will challenge your development, interpretation and ensemble musicality. You will work with an abridged text to realise technical, cultural and contextual research as preparation, as well as rehearsal practices, presenting this work in a staged studio environment to an internal audience. The integration of acting, singing, dance and instrumentation is core to the module delivery.
Module Overview:
For this module you will strengthen the technical approaches youve learned so far in a directed workshop presentation of a musical play presented to an internal audience. You will work with a greater independence, testing your ability to engage with psychological, physical and vocal techniques, as well as combining musical instrumentation skills, collaboration and legit vocal qualities, including onsets and stylistic singing qualities.
