Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
You will undertake a series of skills sessions developing your understanding of and facility with, acting, movement and voice practitioner techniques.

You will apply these skills to a text as an ensemble, exploring what it means to make work as part of a cast of actors.

You will take your technical engagement with voice, movement and acting deeper, experimenting with roles specifically chosen to challenge your skills, safely and responsibly.

You are expected to make imaginative contributions to the text, developing your understanding of the rehearsal process and the boundaries that exist in a creative space.

With your understanding of the role of research from Module 1 – you are required to independently explore beyond the text itself and make connections between it and the wider world.
Module Overview:
This module challenges your development as you work, as an ensemble, on a single text from a globalised canon of work.

Exploring the process of the rehearsal, you must now integrate psychological, physical, and vocal approaches to create character whilst considering the boundaries of an inclusive, respectful rehearsal space that remains exciting and creative.

Your movement training will help you to understand weight, tension, effort, rhythm, and animal characteristics; voice sessions assist your understanding of vocal resonance, range, accent, speech and text.

Screen acting continues in this module, challenging you to explore notions of performative size.
