Aims

This module aims to provide you with an understanding of the interdisciplinary components of acting. You will begin to recognise the how acting techniques, the body and voice, can work together to generate creative performance possibilities. You will recognise preparation, process, and the adaptation of technique across live and digital works.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
This module allows you to investigate the interconnected disciplines of movement and voice within your acting techniques. You will test your discoveries across two different but linked projects. In one project, you will work with material from a range of historical and cultural origins to test your theatricality and playfulness, as well as your ensemble company skills. The other project focuses on your application in digital work and your ability to make the necessary technical adjustments to achieve a scene presentation.
Module Overview:
In this module, you begin to integrate acting, movement and voice skills. You will undertake project work that allows you to understand the combination of acting styles in live and recorded scene studies from a range of historical, cultural, and international origins, uncovering contemporary interpretations. This expands your understanding and knowledge of stage and screen craft, including performance possibilities.
