Aims
This module will discuss how business law is applied to organisations. Students will consider the impact of legislation on business operations and suggest appropriate strategies to ensure compliance.
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to demonstrate the impact of the law on business operations.

Outline Syllabus:The legal system; purpose of the law, differences between statutory, common law and equity, company and contract law
The justice system; role of the government, judiciary and jurisdiction
Legislation and legal responsibilities
Employment law and its impact on business
Legal solutions; termination of contracts, liquidation
Role of unions, citizens advice and Alternative Dispute Resolution
