Aims
This module aims to provide students with knowledge and understanding of the differing educational provision for those with SEND, in addition to exploring the role of the SENDCo and other key professionals, with a key emphasis on inclusive practice.
Learning Outcomes

Recognise the role of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo) and other key educational professionals
2.
Identify inclusive practice within educational settings
3.
Describe the differences between mainstream and special schools

Outline Syllabus:• What do we mean by inclusive practice?
• What might an inclusive school/classroom look like?
• The role of the SENDCo
• Roles of other key professionals with regards to supporting learners with SEND, such as teachers, teaching assistants and educational psychologists
• Mainstream ‘versus’ special schools
• EHCPs in action
• The voices of learners (and their parents)
• Transition
• Are all schools inclusive?
