Aims

To introduce and develop the principles of professional practice and introduce the scope of competencies for the nursing associate role guided by the NMC Standards of Proficiency for the Nursing Associate. This module will run alongside your practice placements and will introduce the skills required for Nursing Associate practice enabling you to engage with care of individuals across different health and care settings.

Nursing procedures theory (Annexe B)

Complete, record, interpret & respond to a range of assessment 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5

Administer basic physical & mental first aid & basic life support.               1.10, 1.11

Assess, Support mobility using the appropriate equipment and technique 2.2, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4

Record fluid intake & output and escalate as required 4.3

Observe and respond to infection risks using appropriate protocols, techniques & equipment. 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, 8.5, 8.7, 8.8
Module Overview:
