Aims

To plan how to critically reflect on personal, work-based, theoretical and research practice experiences that contribute to the creation of new knowledge.

Learning Outcomes

Develop a strategy that will enable critical refection to be communicated, discussed and evaluated
2.
Understand the most appropriate principles, theory and practice of critical reflection, in order to craft a theoretically informed reflective journal
3.
Appreciate the most appropriate methods for collecting and analysing data for critical reflection

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Students will learn how the most appropriate principles, theory and practice of critical reflection, in order to craft a theoretically informed reflective journal. Students will gain understanding of: Theoretical Grounding & Introduction, Explicit Theories, Different Perspectives on Reflective Practice, Concepts of Decolonialisation, Crafting a Theoretically Informed Reflective Journal, Methodological Considerations, Analysing and presenting Reflective Data.

Additional Information:Critical reflection is a crucial component of becoming a scholar-practitioner. This module is designed to equip students with the skills to be a reflexive researcher and have the confidence to critically reflect on their research journey.
