Aims

In this module students combine skills and techniques used in Critical Perspectives and Executive Effectiveness with specific learning about the field of creative learning and outreach as typified in the work of a midscale producing or presenting venue.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Synthesise reflective practice, research informed decision making and executive effectiveness in a Creative Learning and Outreach project.
2.
Demonstrate an advanced ability to design and deliver rehearsal processes that synthesise both creative and pedagogical approaches in the development of community engagement.
3.
Demonstrate an advanced ability to utilise their skills as a project leader to increase the pedagogical/social impact of an engagement/outreach event.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
In the first phase of the project students engage in an intensive workshop process exploring the genre of creative learning and outreach. This could include activities designed to support engagement with main house performances, educational support and accessibility projects. Taught delivery is then followed by a period of work-based learning and reflection leading to a practical performance as the final assessment.
