Aims
In this module students combine skills and techniques used in Critical Perspectives and Executive Effectiveness with specific learning about the field of directing for, and with, young people.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Synthesise reflective practice, research informed decision making and executive
effectiveness in a directing project for and/or with young people.
2.
Demonstrate an advanced ability to design and deliver rehearsal processes that
synthesise both creative and pedagogical approaches in the making of formal
performance.
3.
Demonstrate an advanced ability to utilise their skills as a director to increase the
aesthetic impact of a performance for or with young people.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
In the first phase of the project, students engage in an intensive workshop process exploring the genre of directing for and with young people, to include the development of an artistic vision, rehearsal planning and technique. This is followed by a period of work-based learning and reflection leading to a practical performance as the final assessment.
