Aims
To develop participants’ theoretical and evidence based understanding of professional development for leadership and management associated with Special Educational Needs Coordination.
Learning Outcomes

Critically analyse key theoretical frameworks and concepts in leadership and management as they relate to the practice of SEN Coordination

Synthesise research findings, evidence based practice and theory to inform leadership and management practices

Critically evaluate professional development needs in relation to leading SEN provision

Additional Information:This module provides a grounding in theory, research and practice for educational
professionals with an interest in developing their capabilities as SENCos, their
understanding of policy contexts, and their ability to contribute to improve
educational outcomes and organisational effectiveness in their school or setting. The module contributes to attainment of the National Award for Special Educational Needs coordination (NASENCo)
