Aims

To enable students to make a professional contribution, apply leadership and management skills, knowledge and theory to operate as an effective leader within the Smart City context.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Evaluate the relevance of financial markets and institution for finding adequate and innovative smart city financing solutions
2.
Critically consider how technological disruptions like digitisation and artificial intelligence provide significant challenges as well as major opportunities for innovative financing solutions for smart cities.
3.
Analyse potential and existing environmental threats with consideration of how waste can be avoided and utilised as a valuable resource.

Outline Syllabus:Water Management ; Pollution prevention and recovery ; Identification of environmental threats and resilience strategies & measures ; Financial Markets & Institutions ; Sustainable Finance ; Infrastructure & Project Finance ;Digitisation and financial Innovation
Additional Information:This module provides students with the opportunity to explore financial consideration within a smart city context. It also provides students with the opportunity to consider and explore the environmental resource and waste and how these can be utilised within smart city solutions.
