Aims

This module aims to help learners to develop and align leadership skills and practice, strategy and reflective learning to deliver growth responsibly and flexibly in the face of contemporary risks.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
  • Leadership orientations and styles for responsible scale-up growth
  • Reflective practice
  • Leading and engaging for growth (self/teams/networks)
  • Personal presence and story-telling skills
  • Leading teams and employee engagement, networks and collaboration strategies
  • Negotiation strategies
  • Using advocacy and diplomacy skills in building trust and managing reputation
  • Developing a risk-taking culture
  • Managing risk and coping in a crisis (e.g. legal, financial, personal, due diligence)
  • Leadership learning and reflective practice
  • Approaches for measuring impact and growth
Module Overview:
This module aims to help learners to develop and align leadership skills and practice, strategy and reflective learning to deliver growth responsibly and flexibly in the face of contemporary risks.

It aims to help you to deepen your reflexivity on a range of connecting issues relating to leading your business to grow responsibly, particularly the dynamic alignment of leadership, strategy and learning with an intentional focus throughout to developing strategic leadership and risk management practices.
Additional Information:
This module covers the following Apprenticeship KSBs:

K12 Influencing and negotiating strategies both upwards and outwards.
K14 Working with board and other company leadership structures.
S5 Lead and respond in a crisis situation using risk management techniques.
S13: Use personal presence and "storytelling" to articulate and translate vision into operational strategies, demonstrating clarity in thinking such as consideration of sustainable approaches.
S20 Lead within their area of control/authority, influencing both upwards and outwards, negotiating and using advocacy skills to build reputation and effective collaboration.
