Aims
To introduce students to building surveying practice and to enable students to develop a critical understanding and application of property surveys and inspections.
To negotiate dilapidations claims through the interrogation of commercial property leases.
Learning Outcomes

Appreciate the critical significance of professional conduct, ethics and client relations as a chartered building surveyor.

Analyse and evaluate findings from property surveys and inspections.

Critically evaluate and explain the application of the law of dilapidations in commercial property.

Critically analyse and inspect the importance and impact of leases in commercial property claims.

Negotiate and propose robust and logical resolutions to dilapidations claims.
