Aims

This module aims to provide the students with the current theories in industrial relationship and bring them into the context of working in different industries.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Critically evaluate current theories surrounding the legal framework for employment.
2.
Analyse current theories surrounding product and/or process reliability.
3.
Assess and apply the high standards of professional, ethical and moral responsibilities of a professional engineer and organisations.
4.
Develop and apply various techniques to innovate and evaluate solutions for current industrial challenges.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Professional ethics, codes of conduct and moral responsibility; Corporate Social Responsibility. Industrial relationship: current theories of legal framework of employment and product reliability. Industrial context to Risk and Safety analysis, assessment and management. Innovation techniques to generate new ideas; parallel thinking and market evaluation techniques to evaluate the feasibility of a solution.
