Learning Outcomes

Develop a critical awareness of all phases of a project.

Evaluate the relationship between project management processes and methodologies.

Determine the difference between portfolio management, governance and programme management.

Develop a critical awareness of the issues involved at the strategic, operational and project level.

Evaluate the relationship between strategic, operational and project levels, and the broader environment in which operational effectiveness can be achieved.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:The module will cover a wide a range of project management topics considering the phases of the project: definition, planning, execution, control and closure. Each of the above themes will be examined from a theoretical and practical perspective. The module will provide a broad overview of project deliverables and their role in sanctioning subsequent phases. The importance of capital effectiveness, portfolio management, programme management, project governance will be introduced, with an emphasis on operational effectiveness.
