Outline Syllabus:
The syllabus will consist of a combination of lectures, small group seminars, workshops and individual supervision to support students’ learning and assist them in the application of the knowledge and skills gained from the research methods module. The smaller group seminars will deal with emerging issues related to methodology, data analysis and the relationship to professional practice. Students will have the opportunity to attend a number of ‘master classes’ delivered by practising researchers to highlight some of the opportunities and challenges within research projects and to illustrate the links between theory and practice. The syllabus will be supported by Faculty wide Post Graduate research teaching and learning opportunities including the Research Café seminar series, monthly research seminars and workshops focussing on using computer packages to help organise research data.
