Aims
1. To enable the student to undertake a detailed study of a clearly defined legal topic, issue or problem.
2. During the research process, to increase knowledge of a selected subject area and develop a greater critical awareness.
3. Be able to present such findings in an appropriate form.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Demonstrate conceptual understanding and evidence critical evaluation, current research and advanced scholarship in the areas of international business, corporate and finance law.

Demonstrate the capacity to work independently and to professional standards and display high order skills in legal research and writing.
3.
Manage time and develop independent learning for continuous development.
4.
Research effectively through a selection of appropriate theories, methodologies and techniques using primary and secondary materials.
5.
Formulate judgements and identify a range of possible solutions to a given problem.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:The module is an independent research project under the supervision of an academic with specialist knowledge within the subject area of the dissertation.
Module Overview:
The dissertation module is the culmination of the whole programme of study, bringing together aspects of various learning skills in addition to those highlighted as specific learning outcomes. The module content is based around a negotiated topic area following discussions with tutors and introduced at a preliminary stage in the Advanced Legal Research Methods module as a Research Proposal.
