Aims
To enable experienced children's nurses to develop the ability to transfer their existing skills and knowledge in order to provide safe, evidence-based, risk managed, holistic nursing care to children, young people and their families within the community context. In particular this will include children with acute and short term conditions; children with long term conditions; children with disabilities and complex conditions including those requiring continuing care and neonates and children with life-limiting illness, including those requiring palliative and end of life care.

Demonstrate mastery of the complex contemporary challenges facing Community
Children's Nurses

Synthesise a range of perspectives to evaluate the strategic management and
delivery of seamless care in partnership with children, young people and their
families

Systematically evaluate a holistic plan of care synthesising ideas from the
perspectives of children's rights, needs, wishes and choices.
4.
Design, deliver and systematically evaluate strategies to provide supportive care,
which responds to the diverse needs and circumstances of children, young people
and families.

Module Overview:
This course will encourage you to combine your theoretical and practice-based learning to enable them to work towards improving the experiences of children, young people and their families where their specific care needs across integrated pathways, including primary, secondary and in some cases tertiary care. It enables you to develop the ability to transfer your existing skills and knowledge in order to provide safe, evidence-based, risk managed, holistic nursing care to children, young people and their families within the community context.
This course will encourage you to combine your theoretical and practice-based learning to enable them to work towards improving the experiences of children, young people and their families where their specific care needs across integrated pathways, including primary, secondary and in some cases tertiary care. It enables you to develop the ability to transfer your existing skills and knowledge in order to provide safe, evidence-based, risk managed, holistic nursing care to children, young people and their families within the community context.
Additional Information:This course will encourage students to combine their theoretical and practice-based learning to enable them to work towards improving the experiences of children, young people and their families where they have specific care needs across integrated pathways of services, including primary, secondary and in some cases tertiary care.
They will be supported to achieve throughout this challenging learning journey through a robust partnership between academic staff, practice teachers and mentors.
