Aims

The aim of this module is to develop leadership, coaching and mentoring skills and techniques to enable students to contribute to the development of healthcare practice.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Identify own leadership style and themes and opportunities for practice improvement through leadership
2.
Develop a training strategy to meet specific learning needs of groups of healthcare staff
3.
Select and adopt appropriate strategies to improve healthcare practice or to support individuals to achieve their learning needs
4.
Reflect on their own learning needs in relation to their training and development activity undertaken

Outline Syllabus:Leadership frameworks (NHS and RPS) Models of leadership Differences between leadership and management Project and resource management Managing change Risk management Mentoring/coaching Planning education and training sessions Delivering effective training sessions Feedback and methods of evaluation
Module Overview:
This module considers the medicines optimisation of acute conditions commonly encountered in primary care and community pharmacy in individual patients and groups of patients.
Additional Information:This module builds on the skills and knowledge that students have gained through the first year of study and their on-going practice to help them develop leadership, change management and educational skills and techniques that are relevant to their future careers
