Aims
The aim of the module is to enable the student to develop skills in research methods and expertise in the evaluation, delivery and development of an area of healthcare practice/service provision to improve standards.
This module includes 10 credits of research methods to support student's in developing research skills necessary to complete an MSc dissertation.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Evaluate their practice or service provided to identify an area for improvement, and develop a project proposal to address the gap(s) in practice.
2.
Choose and adopt a research method(s) to deliver on the project aims and objectives (and audit standards and criteria, if applicable)
3.
Demonstrate ethical considerations, research governance and risk management in their chosen methodology
4.
Analyse and report results and discuss project findings in the context of existing knowledge
5.
Develop an action plan on how to implement recommendations for improving practice or service provision
