Aims

This module aims to enable students to produce a master level dissertation.  The dissertation will investigate a complex and strategic work based problem putting into practice the skills and knowledge gained over the duration of the course and apply concepts from wider leadership and management literature.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Identify and negotiate objectives and benefits with key project stakeholders
2.
To critically analyse and locate the work based problem within a body of contemporary academic knowledge.
3.
Design and apply appropriate research methodologies to investigate a complex business issue.
4.
Synthesize conclusions and articulate practical, actionable recommendations for the enhancement of current business practice.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
Research ethics and insider research, stakeholder engagement, research impact, Purpose and practice of data sourcing, Research design, Data gathering techniques, Managing the research process, Reflection and reflexivity, Identify research and data tools and resources
Module Overview:
Undertaken primarily as an independent self-managed module of study, supported by an academic supervisor with additional guidance provided through the dedicated Canvas site.
