Aims

1. Students will undertake a creative, dynamic and innovative documentary project to an advanced level, as proof of concept on a chosen media platform, developing a range of technical skills commensurate with masters study.

2. Critically reflect upon and evaluate their development as a creative practitioner and assess the theory and practice of engaging users on different platforms, demonstrating skills in critical thinking.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
Students will explore theoretical issues and practical aspects of multimedia / multi-platforms and engage in the creation of a documentary artefact on a chosen media platform. A reflective commentary will detail the intellectual effort and perspective involved in the production of the documentary artefact, including a critical evaluation of research methods and ethical practice, the identified consumer and audience profile. The commentary will also offer a critical analysis and evaluation of the chosen media platform.
Module Overview:
This module is an opportunity for students to explore a range of technical skills in the development of compelling, tangible narratives on different media platforms, such as audio interfaces and non-linear interactive interfaces, producing engaging, dynamic content, including soundscaping, digital text, images, effects, video and animations. 
Additional Information:
The projects developed in this module will be a proof of concept for the main masters documentary or an associated project, designed to form part of a professional portfolio.
