Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
Working in conjunction with the supervisor, the student will refine the precise topic for research. Building on the preparatory modules, Academic and Digital Literacies (7009LBSIBM) and Research and Data Analytics (7004LBSIBM), students will develop their critical skills as a researcher. The series of tutorials included in the module cover: an introduction to the project module, understanding the ethical approval process, writing a critical literature review, data collection and analysing data (both primary and secondary data, and quantitative and qualitative data) with final sessions on writing the discussion and conclusion chapters and finishing off the thesis.
Module Overview:
This module will help you to prepare a research project that applies international business/managerial concepts and techniques to a significant organisational issue or problem. It will help you to carry out an independent, in-depth research study.
Additional Information:
The research project builds on previous learning from Academic and Digital Literacies (7009LBSIBM) and Research and Data Analytics (7004LBSIBM), and from appropriate subject specific modules, with the learning outcomes being achieved through a 16,000 word dissertation that applies managerial concepts and research techniques to critically investigate an organisational issue or problem in an international context. While the student will primarily operate as an independent learner for the in-depth advanced study, support and guidance will be available from the assigned supervisor, online materials and scheduled workshops.
