Aims

1. To investigate the nature of professional media production/journalism skills and requirements and the effects of changing technology on output. 2. To consider, through reflecting on personal professional experience, how professional issues shape output 3. To investigate the effects of political, social and economic factors on programme e.g. documentary / journalism output through reflections on personal output.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Analysing and evaluating your own work and the work of others; reflecting on professional practice.
Module Overview:
This optional module is designed to reflect on the production of your own output and the factors which influence it. It aims to:
  • investigate the nature of professional media production/journalism skills and the effects of changing technology on output
  • consider, through reflecting on personal professional experience, how professional issues shape output
  • investigate the effects of political, social and economic factors on programmes e.g. documentary/journalism output through reflections on personal output
Additional Information:This module is designed to allow professionals working in the media, or those with considerable professional media experience, to reflect on the production of their own output and the factors through which it is influenced. This is an optional module
