Aims

The aim of the module is to provide the student with a practical understanding of the quantitative research methods used in health related research.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Critically appraise and evaluate a range of quantitative research designs and select those appropriate for a specified research question/hypothesis
2.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding of a chosen study design that allows the student to answer a research question/ test a hypothesis
3.
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the different forms of bias in quantitative research design
4.
Critically appraise a range of descriptive and inferential statistical analyses undertaken in quantitative research and select those appropriate to the research design and data
