Aims

Building on innovation theory and best practice, this module aims to develop students' ability to think and act innovatively in a range of organisational contexts. Students will learn how to identify, evaluate and exploit opportunities and consider strategies to support and promote innovative practices in their organisations.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Develop strategies to exploit opportunities and manage the innovation process based on the critical appraisal and synthesis of innovation concepts and frameworks.
2.
Critically appraise and apply leadership strategies to develop and promote a culture of creativity and innovation within organisations
3.
Based on a critical understanding of business model concepts and innovation theory, evaluate opportunities to innovate business processes and working practices

Additional Information:
For learners who are also part of the Senior Leadership Apprenticeship, the following standards are covered within the module; 

(S6) Act as a Sponsor/Ambassador, championing projects and transformation of services across organisational boundaries such as those impacted by sustainability and the UK Net Carbon Zero by 2050 target. (K4) Innovation; the impact of disruptive technologies (mechanisms that challenge traditional business methods and practices); drivers of change and new ways of working across infrastructure, processes, people and culture and sustainability
