Aims
To undertake an independent financial management dissertation relevant to the student's field of practice or area of professional interest.
Students will undertake a reflective rigorous piece of work that will synthesise practical and academic issues addressed during the programme.
They will have the opportunity to show evidence of independent investigation, combining theories, suggesting alternatives, the ability to plan and manage deadlines whilst acting as a reflective practitioner.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Formulate, develop and justify an original research problem aims and research questions relevant to the financial area.
2.
Conduct an effective literature search demonstrating an awareness, understanding and critical appraisal of previous relevant theoretical and empirical work in relation to the chosen research problem.
3.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of differing research paradigms, ethics and research governance principles appreciating how to apply them appropriately.
4.
Synthesise the research findings and justify conclusions with direct consideration of the research problem.

Students will undertake a reflective rigorous piece of work that will synthesise practical and academic issues addressed during the programme. They will have the opportunity to show evidence of independent investigation, combining theories, suggesting alternatives, the ability to plan and manage deadlines whilst acting as a reflective practitioner.

Additional Information:The aim of the dissertation is for students to pursue an independent piece of research within the field of finance.
