Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Understanding and challenging discriminatory behaviours Emotional Intelligence Numeracy and medications Literacy Digital and technological skills for developing safe effective nursing care Pain management across the lifespan Wound Care Asepsis Pathophysiology Clinical instruction Nursing in relation to general and specialist medicine general and specialist surgery, child care, paediatrics and maternity care Understanding professional practice and maintaining self-health Recognising vulnerability yourself and others and supporting to minimise risks to health The importance of a healthy lifestyle to maintain wellbeing to meet peoples needs for mental and physical care Understanding routine, complex and challenging situations Continuous reflection in practice, and seeking feedback Effective and proactive contribution in the interdisciplinary team Clinical observation and assessment Working with others & Service user engagement, Admission & discharge planning healthcare informatics Activities of Daily Living Venepuncture
Module Overview:
Building on your earlier learning, this module will support you to confidently engage with a range of values, attitudes and skills that underpin safe and effective clinical practice.

After completing the module, you will be able to actively participate in care with minimal guidance to achieve proficiencies with associated NMC Professional Values, and conduct nursing care to the required NMC standards for progression point 2.
Additional Information:The Academic Assessor will monitor that the student is completing their hours. This includes any practice placement learning and simulated practice learning, in accordance with the students programme plan. Please note that workshop hours as listed in the above contact hours account for simulated theoretical learning, in accordance with NMC standard 3.4
