Aims
The module aims to provide an analysis of the theories, concepts and frameworks associated with transformational strategic management. Learners will develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of the complexities of creating, evaluating and maintaining ethical and sustainable business growth strategies within a dynamic internal and external environment.
Learning Outcomes

Learners will be able to critically evaluate and apply strategic management theory and frameworks to design a sustainable strategic management plan.

Learners will be able to critically assess the role of stakeholders, governance structures and the internal and external business environment in creating and operationalising transformational strategic change.
3.
Learners will be able to evaluate the importance of crisis and risk management in creating a sustainable management strategy.

Module Overview:
The module aims to provide an analysis of the theories, concepts and frameworks associated with strategic management. Learners will develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of the complexities of creating, evaluating and maintaining ethical and sustainable business growth strategies within a dynamic internal and external environment.
The module will encourage learners to consider the wider societal impact of strategic change as well as the role of new technology and digitalisation in organisational transformation. The authentic nature of the assessment enables students to put their learning into effect in the workplace, to apply their understanding to their own organisational context and to develop practical management skills.
The module aims to provide an analysis of the theories, concepts and frameworks associated with strategic management. Learners will develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of the complexities of creating, evaluating and maintaining ethical and sustainable business growth strategies within a dynamic internal and external environment.

For learners who are also part of the Senior Leadership Apprenticeship, the following standards are covered within the module;
(S2) Set strategic direction and gain support for it from key stakeholders. (K1) How to shape organisational mission, culture, and values. (K19) Approaches to developing a Corporate Social Responsibility programme. (S1) Use horizon scanning and conceptualisation to deliver high performance strategies focusing on growth/sustainable outcomes. (S7) Challenge strategies and operations in terms of ethics, responsibility, sustainability, resource allocation and business continuity/risk management. (S13) Use personal presence and "storytelling" to articulate and translate vision into operational strategies, demonstrating clarity in thinking such as consideration of sustainable approaches. (K2) Organisation structures; business modelling; diversity; global and horizon scanning perspectives; governance and accountability; technological and policy implications. (S8) Apply principles relating to Corporate Social Responsibility, Governance and Regulatory compliance. (K13) The external social and political environment and use of diplomacy with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders.
