Aims
This module will enable students to consider and appreciate how physical education can provide a positive learning environment for the development of a wide range of skills and attributes. These include movement, sport specific, leadership, teamwork. This module will allow for critical reflection on how pedagogy can impact on the physical, affective, cognitive, and social development of individuals. Conceptual models such as Teaching Games for Understanding and Physical Literacy will be explored.
Learning Outcomes

Critically evaluate pedagogical models and apply them to practical teaching situations

Critically explore learning theories and discuss how varied pedagogical approaches enable young people to develop skills
3.
Deliver positive physical education learning environments that enable young people to develop physical, affective, cognitive, and social skills.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Pedagogical Outcomes e.g., connection, character, competence, health
Theories of learning e.g., behaviourist, cognitivist, constructivist perspectives Pedagogical models e.g., TGFU, Sport Education, Co-operative Learning Planning, and delivery of safe practical activities specifically using adventure activities and aquatics

This module will allow for critical reflection on how pedagogy can impact on the physical, affective, cognitive, and social development of individuals This module will primarily focus on traditional activities associated with physical education such as games, aesthetic activities, and individual activities.
