Aims

The aims of the module are to: Enable the students to incorporate all their prior learning to demonstrate a sophisticated level of performance and professional practice in the creation of a short film and monologues to be used for industry purposes. Enable the students to incorporate all their prior learning to demonstrate a sophisticated level of performance and professional practice in the creation of a voice reel to be used for industry purposes.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:This Module develops the skills and technique experienced in L5 Screen and Recorded Media Module and applies them to a variety of professional contexts. The module is divided into 2 parts. Part 1 – Short Film Project The students will continue to develop their acting technique for screen. They will participate in the planning for and filming of a short film or films. The students will take crew roles as well as act in at least one of the short films. These will be shot around the IAB and on location as the script requires. Part 2 – Voice Reels The students will select and record material for an industry level voice reel that will reflect the market that they want to enter.
Additional Information:This module equips students with pre-professional techniques and experience in acting on screen and on microphone. It will give students further experience of key technical roles in professional surroundings and experience of crewing. Assessment is in performance in filmed scenes both in front and behind the camera, and in the producing of a personal voice reel.
