Aims

1. Articulate and interpret selected texts in a variety of environments and to solidify your understanding of the physiological principles of a healthy, efficient voice.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Evaluate and synthesise their understanding of their voice when using it in a safe and healthy manner: with regards to body, breath, note, tone, articulation and resonance.
2.
Apply their voice as an instrument to utilize a range of practical, creative and imaginative strategies in relation and evaluation to their vocal development.
3.
Utilise and employ the vocal skills required for the voice over industry. 


4.
Synthesise their understanding of the practical vocal demands faced within a professional performance context.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:• Practical Voice The application of vocal techniques learned in year one and two and applying the work within a professional context (public shows and creating a voice reel). Students will continue to develop their voice and its application to a broader range of text based material and to take a proactive attitude toward their own vocal development: marketing themselves within the industry. • Pedagogy Exploring the physiological, philosophical, ethical and practical demands in working on the voice. Micro-teaching experience will heighten your understanding of your own voice as well as how to work with others. This is aimed at enhancing your employability skills and understanding the importance of continuing your professional development.
Additional Information:The modules builds on practical vocal techniques learned in years one and two, as well as further enhancing students’ employability skills by allowing them to explore ways of working with others. The modules is assessed by a vocal reel and a portfolio of practical work.
