Learning Outcomes
Module Content
You will research possible projects and 'pitch' ideas in order to negotiate your self-initiated final production project giving due consideration to your future career direction and aspirations. You may choose to opt to work individually or in a team of no more than three in identifying and carrying out a final project.
Pre-production is the first stage in the production process which is followed by production and post-production. In this module you will plan some of the key elements that are required to deliver your final project.
Once you project is agreed, you will be required to set out a plan and schedule for implementation.
You will need to research issues relevant to your chosen final project and generate creative ideas which you will scope and analyse in order to produce a visual plan or storyboard which will communicate the concept.
The storyboard or visual plan will provide a platform for you to formulate a schedule of the techniques, processes and resources needed to implement the project.
You will also be introduced to SWOT analysis, project and time management planning and workflow preparation for implementing your final project. You will identify any relevant production issues and assess how to negotiate these.
You will consider a range of professional practice issues including costing, budgeting and resource management to ensure a successful and professional outcome.
This module will require you to reflect on your learning experience over the previous two years and to negotiate and determine the nature of the final project you wish to undertake. The module brings together the awareness, critical understanding, discerning knowledge and competences you have developed throughout the course and will require you to adopt a professional approach in order to deliver your final project. The module will introduce you to pre-production checklists and project management charting.
