Aims
To provide the student with the experience of investigating a research topic in an appropriate manner under the guidance of an academic tutor.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Research the scientific literature associated with the research programme; extract
and appropriately present relevant background information
2.
Design and execute an appropriate research strategy; identify and assess the
hazards and ethical issues associated with carrying out the research in the field
and/or laboratory
3.
Present and objectively analyse data/information using appropriate
statistical/analytical techniques
4.
Select, highlight and critically evaluate the relevance and implications of the major
findings in relation to other published studies
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:This module is a self-directed project module with tutorial guidance as required. It provides an opportunity for students to independently develop and demonstrate scientific and practical working methods in a research or applied context. The
project will be in any area of forensic anthropology and students will be allowed a choice of topic, subject to academic approval.
