Aims

To carry out an appropriately focussed piece of school-based research.

Learning Outcomes

Synthesise educational research in the context of an aspect of classroom practice

Critically apply understanding of research methods focussed upon current issues in primary education
3.
Critically analyse the findings and explain using educational theory and/or research

Critically evaluate findings and educational research to support improvement in future practice

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Review of methods for practitioner research. Reviewing literature in order to focus research project. Preparing a research proposal. Developing methodological approach. Analysing data. Writing up the report. Developing Research skills
Module Overview:
Within School Based Research you will investigate a chosen classroom-based topic or issue in a primary school, leading to a research proposal and a research report.
Additional Information:A level 6 module of 30 credits consisting of a tutor-supervised investigation into a chosen classroom-based topic or issue in a primary school, leading to a research proposal and a research report.
