Aims
To enable students to demonstrate the professional practices and values of a primary teacher, with the relevant knowledge and understanding, skills and attributes to become an effective and reflective practitioner.
Learning Outcomes

Critically appraise educational findings and identify the implications for ensuring pupils of all backgrounds, abilities and dispositions make good progress.

Synthesise understanding of a range of current educational issues and consider the impact on classroom practice.

Critically reflect on personal and professional development and assess future considerations for effective classroom practice.

Outline Syllabus:Personal and professional development planning
Furthering understanding of the QTS standards and collation of evidence towards
them
Revising and extending practice in areas such as:
Behaviour management
Formative and summative assessment
Planning for progression (units of work)
Inclusive approaches
Responding to gender differences, linguistic diversity, cultural diversity
Applying for teaching jobs
Career Entry Development Profile
Preparing for induction year
Preparing to share responsibility for future CPD
Transition to Key Stage 3 - raising awareness of secondary curriculum, teaching
approaches etc.
Responding to current developments in education.
Preparatory Research skills
Leadership skills and leading a subject in school
