Aims

This module will encourage learners to develop a critical understanding of vulnerability and examine risk factors and issues that may arise when dealing with vulnerable members of society.  It will analyse the causes of vulnerability as they relate to safeguarding members of the community who are at risk of victimisation, harm and extremism.   The module will explore the issues associated with domestic abuse (including coercive and controlling behaviour), stalking and harassment, mental health, organised crime gangs, and child exploitation. It will allow learners to reflect on the importance of engaging effectively when dealing with a vulnerable victim, witness, or suspect.
