Aims
This module aims to bring together different professions as represented by Level 6 students on Built Environment programmes and to work collaboratively on a large scale development project. BIM (Building Information Modelling) techniques will be utilised within the project. It highlights the interdisciplinary nature of the construction and property industry using softwares to support the decision making process in a sustainable environment.
Learning Outcomes

Critically analyse and apply built environment principles and techniques to a complex construction project.

Contribute to the presentation of proposals in report format and using visuals.

Reflect upon their learning, performance and or achievement and to plan for their personal, educational and career development linked to the relevant PSRB requirements.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:This module will facilitate the learning process by enabling students to apply the theory gained at all levels into practice. Within the module itself the following areas will be considered and applied to the project: BIM software technologies, negotiation skills, sustainable design, cost, programme and legal considerations.

Additional Information:The central theme of the module is stakeholder collaboration and the production of industry standard project documentation for a large scale development project.
Collaborative work is a key theme of the module; the intention being to simulate the experience of the work place and work place activity, endorsed and approved by the involvement of employers and stakeholders as relevant to the workplace generally.
