Aims
To develop an advanced understanding of structural and functional aspects of macromolecules, particularly proteins, in biology.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Evaluate experimental data and techniques used to investigate important aspects of the structure and function of macromolecules
2.
Appraise information regarding important aspects of macromolecular techniques
3.
Appraise information regarding important aspects of the structure and function of macromolecules
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
- Methods for identification of macromolecular interactions
- Methods for characterisation of macromolecular interactions
- Macromolecule bioconjugation chemistry
- Structure-function relationships of macromolecules
- Cellular function of macromolecules.
Module Overview:
The aim of this module is to develop an advanced understanding of structural and functional aspects of macromolecules, particularly proteins, in biology. The module provides an advanced view of aspects of the structure and function of macromolecules and relationships between the two.
