Aims

The module aims to apply student's skills and knowledge to work in applied practice through a programme sourced group placement and supervision processes akin to that of professional training. The module is primarily delivered through placement activity and supervision seminars and will allow the student to apply group working skills, create an effective product/service related to applied sport and exercise psychology and utilise reflective practice skills.

Learning Outcomes

Design an effective group-based product/service appropriate to that set for the placement and client group.

Critically appraise the design, delivery and impact of the applied sport and exercise psychology provision for the client group.

Reflect on placement experience, skills and knowledge relevant to applied sport and exercise psychology practice.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
This module is designed to provide students with the opportunity to apply and develop their theoretical knowledge and applied practice skills by engaging in a group work related learning project. Learning/activity will be structured through a group learning agreement, placement activity, supervision tutorials and evaluated by the completion of a group and an individual assessment tasks. This module places significant emphasis on group tutorials with the academic placement supervisor to facilitate the student learning experience. The module will also contain an applied practice event through which students can engage with experienced practitioners.
