Aims
This module aims to develop a critical understanding of contemporary issues in motor behaviour, and the ability to synthesise and apply findings to sport, exercise and health settings.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Critically evaluate and integrate research findings, perspectives and models of learning interceptive actions in sport, exercise and health.
2.
Critically evaluate and integrate research findings, perspectives and models of perceptual training in sport, exercise and health.
3.
Apply quantitative research skills to understanding applied motor behaviour.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
Learning mechanisms for interceptive action: The content will reflect current issues underpinned by relevant research, and includes: fundamentals of vision and eye movements, visual control of interceptive action, processes of observation and imitation learning. Perceptual training: The content will reflect current issues underpinned by relevant research and includes: perceptual-cognitive expertise, eye movements during goal-directed behaviour, quiet eye mechanisms, quiet eye training.
