Aims
1. To extend research and conceptual skills developed in the programme and through taught modules.
2. To provide students with the opportunity to research in depth a specific research topic of their own devising.
3. To foster initiative and independence of thought in the application and critique of quantitative, qualitative, historical or analytical concepts and methods in Film studies.

Demonstrate their skills in designing, carrying out and writing up a research project.

Deliver a reasoned, accurate, well-presented and convincing report or argument on the topic of their choice.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:1. Introductory lecture(s)
2. A series of tutorials through the period of research advising and guiding students in their work.
3. A significant research project, including the development of appropriate skills for the task.
4. A process of drafting and rewriting the dissertation in final form.
