Aims
1. To continue student's development as poets, building on the accrual of skills in Levels 4 and 5, bringing in techniques learned in other genres and disciplines, enabling students to build a cohesive body of work ready for professional publication and submissions.
2. To enable students to begin to frame their own poetic practice within an idea of ‘poetics’ or a theory of their own poetic ‘voice’ and pursuits; considering not just what they write but why and how they write it.
3. To introduce students to a wide range of International poetry and engage them within the professional world of poetry through masterclass workshops and guest-poet readings.
4. To encourage and facilitate students’ involvement in peer-led critiquing workshops to improve their editorial, close-reading and communication skills.

Module Content
Outline Syllabus:The module will focus on in-depth critiquing of students’ work; asking students to consider how to disassemble, rebuild and improve their own and classmates work; discussions and reading material will centre around poets’ discussion of their own writing processes. Guest masterclasses and readings from leading contemporary poets will be utilized to give students a wider and richer learning experience.

This module will focus on in-depth critiquing of students' work, asking you to consider how to disassemble, rebuild and improve your own and classmates work. Discussions and reading material will centre around discussion of your own writing processes. Guest masterclasses and readings from leading contemporary poets will be utilized to give you a wider and richer learning experience.
This module will focus on in-depth critiquing of students' work, asking you to consider how to disassemble, rebuild and improve your own and classmates work. Discussions and reading material will centre around discussion of your own writing processes. Guest masterclasses and readings from leading contemporary poets will be utilized to give you a wider and richer learning experience.
Additional Information:The module will treat students as real poets and, alongside instructing them on craft, editing and voice, will also help them to consider their work in a professional context-( where they might submit poems or pamphlets to for example). The focus will be on in-depth, peer-led but tutor-supervised, analysis and critical discussion of the students’ own work. Guest speakers, readers and masterclasses will also illuminate the student experience.
