Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Students develop their dissertation projects through tutorial groups and one-on-one tutorials. Where appropriate, student groups are determined around subject groupings.
Module Overview:
This module aims to form a balance between the Drama Dissertation and Advanced Practice 2 in offering you a cumulative opportunity to set practice and scholarship side by side. You will learn to locate, collect, review and evaluate relevant research material and justify clearly its relevance, and to develop a critical and analytical argument, according to conventions of academic papers and in a form related to your chosen subject.
Additional Information:The module aims to form a balance between the Drama Dissertation and Advanced Practice 2 in offering students a cumulative opportunity to set practice and scholarship side by side. There is no requirement to link the work of the two modules but students may do so in agreement with tutors if appropriate. As such the 20 credit weighting of each allows for equal emphasis and the Dissertation also forms an option available to dual subject students, parallel to equivalent modules in their second subject (English or Creative Writing). All dual subject students take Advanced Theatre Practice 2. Dual subject students who wish to take this module MUST also take the level 5 optional module Drama Research and Proposal
