Aims

To further develop students understanding of production and company infrastructures and base of operation To develop conceptual and practical considerations of running and organising a drama festival To further enhance students' ability to work independently and collectively

Learning Outcomes

1.
Evaluate both conceptually and practically the concerns and demands of creating and running either a festival or a theatre company
2.
Construct a proposal for a new festival of work or a theatre company which synthesises these ideas

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Workshops will offer students models for theatre company structures and provide a range of operational options. Similarly students will examine the principles and practicalities of running a festival. Small group seminar will offer students opportunity to develop their own ideas which form the basis of assessment.
Module Overview:
This module further offers you the opportunity to develop either a festival event pitch or a personal company business plan as a means of enhancing potential future employability. Where appropriate the module will invite alumni who have real world experience of founding and running their own companies, or who have run festivals or similar events, to contribute to delivery.
