Aims

To provide a concentrated opportunity to contribute to the origination, research, development, and production of a media artefact as a culmination of the student's degree experience. To provide an opportunity for students to produce work that reflects their skills and positions them in the job market, providing them with valuable practical experience and a portfolio piece of work.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Students will independently explore and further develop skills and knowledge in the following: Time Management Production Management Production skills particular to their chosen area of media production Current thinking pertinent to their chosen production practise. This is a very independent production module with weekly/fortnightly group/individual tutorials. Optional technical workshops with the technicians will be offered according to demand and need. NB: Each student has identified a research aim for their role/s within the project during the Development and Distribution module. Progress on this journey should inform regular tutorials and feed into the final Project Viva and Reflection.

This module will provide an opportunity for you to produce work that reflects your skills and positions you in the job market, providing you with valuable practical experience and a portfolio piece of work.
Additional Information:This module will produce the projects developed and pitched as part of the Development and Distribution Module in semester one. The projects will be selected and greenlit at the end of the Development and Distribution module and the students put into production groups accordingly. The specific parameters of production and submission will be negotiated on a project basis with the supervisor. Attendance in tutorials is mandatory, as is the Project Viva. Students choosing to work in groups will need to negotiate, and agree with their tutors, a project of substantial scope by comparison to those working alone.
