To enable students to work independently to plan, design and execute an extended analysis of a media subject that extends their specialist knowledge.

Module Content
Outline Syllabus:1. The dissertation topic will be negotiated between student and tutor on the basis of
the student's proposed ideas.
2. With tutorial guidance a suitable programme of research will be drawn up and a
dissertation structure will be agreed.
3. Tutors will read/view draft material to comment on methodology and style, but not on
substantive matters of analysis and interpretation.
4. Work will follow the course guidelines in relation to matters of style.
