To examine the manner in which events may be mediated through, and affected by, political actions, different social contexts, and public policy.

Learning Outcomes

Understand how policy relating to events is formed within a national and international political context.
2.
To critically analyse the manner in which the socio-economic contexts in which events occur, impact the management and legacy of those events.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Policy planning, cultural policy and its creation, political ideology, national identity, corruption and bribery, human rights and animal rights and the impact of these issues in the context of international events management.
Module Overview:
This module places the events industry within a wider political setting. Political ideologies will frame your understanding of how events can be subject to varying socio-economic opportunities and constraints. Exploring interrelationships between events and wider policy aims allows you to contextualise events within a wider national and international setting.
