This module explores the concept of globalization and its impact on population health and identifies the global strategic responses to these issues.

Concept analysis and historical development of globalizing practices and trends Dimensions of globalization: political, economic, technological and cultural The impact of globalization on health and the environment The role of international and transnational organisation in the response to global health problems Global responses to public/environmental health risk The role of international organisations in the strategic response to public/environmental health risk Topics Inc.: Tobacco control, Food & Nutrition, Pollution, Global Warming, Sanitation, Water, Globosity, Alcohol, Pandemics

In this module you will explore the concept of globalization and its impact on population health and identify the global strategic responses to these issues. This module critically examines the phenomenon of globalization and the ways in which it impacts on the environment and public health. Globalization is examined from a number of dimensions: political, economic, technological and cultural. International policy and strategic responses to public/environmental health risks and impacts are critically evaluated.
